Directions
We have noticed that Google Maps doesn't always show the right location for Christ the Reconciler. So, here are directions in the old-fashioned, written format!
From Austin via Manor on 290
As you are approaching Elgin, turn right on County Line Road (just after the Tractor Supply Co). Proceed about almost 2 miles and take your first left on Monkey Road (watch out, it comes up quickly). Proceed on Monkey Road across the railroad tracks and through two stop signs, until it dead-ends into FM 1704. Turn right on 1704. Go almost 3 miles, until you pass the signs for Lower Elgin Road / Balch Road. As you come down the hill, look for the LARGE Cielo warehouse - beige with a red roof (you can't miss it). Turn right into the driveway just before the warehouse, in front of the Christ the Reconciler / Cielo signs.
From Austin via Webberville on 969 (the scenic route)
Take MLK out of Austin, which turns into 969. Cross 183, then 130, then go through the small town of Webberville. About 6 miles later, after Organics B’Gosh on the right, look for FM 1704 to Elgin on the left. Take a left on 1704, and proceed about 5 miles. Shortly after Family Worship Center (a big church on the right) and Speir Road, start looking on the left for the LARGE Cielo warehouse - beige with a red roof (you can't miss it). Turn left into the driveway just after the warehouse and the Christ the Reconciler / Cielo signs.
From Houston via Giddings on 290
As you are coming into Elgin, look for Hwy 95 to Bastrop, just before a bridge crosses over 290. Take a left on Hwy 95. Take an immediate right on Fisher Street (which currently doesn't have a street sign, but is directly across from the driveway into the corner convenience store). From Houston via Bastrop on 969
Take I-10, then Hwy 71 towards Austin. Go through Bastrop and look for the exit to 969 (right where the Chick-Fil-A is), then turn right on 969. About 10 miles after turning onto 969 from Hwy 71, look for FM 1704 to Elgin on the right (right after Cedar Valley Baptist Church). Take a right on 1704, and proceed about 5 miles. Shortly after Family Worship Center (a big church on the right) and Speir Road, start looking on the left for the LARGE Cielo warehouse - beige with a red roof (you can't miss it). Turn left into the driveway just after the warehouse and the Christ the Reconciler / Cielo signs.
