The CTR Building Campaign!
“I pray that what goes on in Christ the Reconciler is documented, filmed, written about …”
- Terry Mitchell, Momark Development
For five years, we have been seeking the Lord for the right time to take the next step in building community. Before this year, the answer was always … “Not Yet.” But in 2023, the response has shifted to a loud-and-clear:
This is both sobering and super-exciting! Confirmation has come in many ways and from varied sources. So, we are preparing a campaign to raise the funds to build houses and a prayer chapel + meeting room on the Christ the Reconciler land east of Austin.
There is much more detail about the campaign below, but first, here are the ways to make a pledge or gift to this campaign:
This enables you to help jump-start the campaign by pledging a set amount, or making a conditional pledge, or pledging a recurring gift (to start in January 2024).
Click this button to immediately give a gift … and thank you!
(If you can give a substantial gift of $1,000 or more, please contact us first rather than giving online.)
Why Do this?
Very simply, this is strongly on the heart of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. His prayer in John 17 presents His deep desire that the relationships of believers would reflect the unity of the Trinity.
This is also Jesus’ one guaranteed way to win the lost (John 17:23). If you want the world to know that Jesus was sent by the Father, then you would be wise to invest in works of reconciliation and unity.
So our motivation to make this happen at Christ the Reconciler flows forth from our love for Jesus, and our love of neighbor - the 1st & 2nd commandments.
Other Frequently Asked Questions

Phase 1 was acquiring the land in 2013. Through a miraculous, unexpected gift we were able to make a down payment and secure a note from Prosperity Bank to buy the land and pay a builder to finish the ministry center. We moved in on August 15, 2014.
Phase 2 was building the Cielo warehouse. In 2018 we constructed a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse on the northeast corner of the property - the first (and to-date, only) new building on the land.

There will actually be two campaigns.
The first one will be a private campaign for those who are already connected to CTR in some way. We hear the Lord saying, “Bring our loaves and fishes for Me to multiply!” This campaign is October & November of 2023, to collect pledges from the community and friends of CTR. It will be expected that the pledges will be fulfilled by the end of 2025.
The second campaign will be a public campaign. We will be making known to the wider community CTR’s vision and development plan, and asking for significant gifts to be made. That campaign is envisioned to start in the spring of 2024. The pledges made in the first “Loaves & Fishes” campaign will provide a significant foundation of funds already pledged, which should encourage external donors who are new to the CTR vision.
The second campaign will also have a significant ministry component. As we approach donors who are new to CTR, we will be raising awareness of the importance of Jesus’ prayer for the unity of the body of Christ, and the impact on world missions and evangelism.

The current estimate is $4.4 million. That estimate was formed in consultation with our developer (Terry Mitchell) and also Joe Bland, who is in the construction business.
As we firm up the plans for the project, we expect that number to change somewhat, but not significantly.

First, we will pay off the existing debt on the land and transfer ownership from the purchasing LLC to Christ the Reconciler, the ministry.
Then we will build enough housing for 50 people - a mix of singles/widows, couples/empty-nesters, young families, and also housing for guests who visit CTR or community members.
We will also build the prayer room - hurrah!
Finally, all of this will require the construction of the main driveway, which will run between the two rows of pine trees straight to the ministry center.
In order to do this, we will first be updating the master design and plan, and also laying in a lot of infrastructure (roads, utilities, etc.).
See the image below which indicates what Phase 3 entails.

As a long-time friend of CTR, you understand the vision and potential impact of a place on the earth where Protestants, Catholics, and Messianic Jews (and hopefully Orthodox one day!) strive to live out John 17 in a way that is visible and visitable.
First and foremost, pray! Only God can do this … and we strongly believe He will do it.
Make a pledge by November 30.
If you are able to give a one-time gift right now, that would be a wonderful way to jump-start the campaign and encourage others to also give!
