Praying Romans 15:7-13

I join with all who are praying *
to the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Opening Prayer

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit.  *
Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesusโ€™ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggarโ€™s heart for Your gift of Peace within us. *
The Saints were tempted, attacked and accused by the devil who is the destroyer of peace. When we are accused by the devil, come to our aid as our Advocate and give us Peace that lasts through all trials!
Amen.

Praying Romans 15:7-13 (New International Version)

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy.

As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name." Again, it says, "Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people." And again, "Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples extol him." *
And again, Isaiah says, "The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope." May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Response to the Scripture

Hope of all the ends of the earth, bright and morning star; rise like the day in our hearts. Come to weary hearts - come and stay.

Draw near to Godโ€™s throne of grace
with the thanksgivings, prayers, & intercessions that are on your heart

Ending Prayer

O Spirit of God, you who turned the chaos of Babel into the harmony of  Pentecost, *
take the many discordant parts of Christ's Body this day, we pray, and make them one,

so that a watching world may see and believe in the One who holds all things together. *
We pray this in the name of the One who prays that we might be one.

- W. David O. Taylor

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
