Praying Luke 1:46-55 (King James Version)

My soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour - For he hath regarded the lowliness of his handmaiden. For behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath magnified me and holy is his Name. His mercy is on them that fear him, throughout all generations. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seat and hath exalted the humble and meek. He hath filled the hungry with good things and the rich he hath sent empty away. He, remembering his mercy, hath holpen his servant Israel as he promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed for ever.

Response to the Scripture

Joy to the world! The Lord is come! Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare him room, and heaven and nature sing.

Ending Prayer

When God made man, he gave him all the earth,
All growing things, with every bird and beast;
Then Adam named them at the Lordโ€™s command,
Subdued the greatest of them, and the least.

In his own image God created man,
And when from dust he fashioned Adamโ€™s face,
The likeness of his only Son was formed:
His Word incarnate, filled with truth and grace.*
To God the Father and to Christ his Son
And blessed Spirit heaven and earth give praise.
Creation with tremendous voice cries out:
All holy is the mighty Lord of Days.

- Stanbrook Abbey Hymnal

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
