I join with all who are praying *
to the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Opening Prayer

We have been created and saved to unite in worship before You.  There are times when we have worshiped together, tasting the joy of finally coming home as Your beloved daughters and sons.  But we come to You now as a broken household.  Minor differences have sometimes shattered friendships in the family of faith.  At times we have ignored, despised or offended one another.  Bring us together again.  Train us in what is good.  Restore what is pleasant.  And bring to life the mighty blessing of being together as Your children.

Praying Acts 17:24-31 (New International Version)

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. *
From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. "For in him we live and move and have our being."

As some of your own poets have said, "We are his offspring." Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone -- an image made by human design and skill. *
In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.

Response to the Scripture

Hope of all the ends of the earth, bright and morning star; rise like the day in our hearts. Come to weary hearts - come and stay.

Draw near to Godโ€™s throne of grace
with the thanksgivings, prayers, & intercessions that are on your heart

The Spirit and the Bride say *
โ€œCome!โ€

Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly. *
In the past, God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Ending Prayer

Heavenly Father, I praise you and thank you for your great love and I lift up this day for your blessings. *
With your help I will live today as a responsible, generous, and honest human being. Like Jesus, I will try today to treat everyone I meet with dignity and respect. With Jesusโ€™ spirit alive in me I will witness my love by thinking of others first and myself last.

Help me today, Father, to put into action what I have said in words. *
I ask this in your name. Amen.
