Praying Song of Songs 7:10-13

I join with all who are praying *
to the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Opening Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, because You were dead, but are now risen, and the Father has given You a name above all names, You will defeat all powers of evil.  Tear down strongholds and ideologies that resist the knowledge of God.

Remove the veil of darkness that covers the peoples.  Restrain the evil that promotes violence and death.  Bring deliverance from demonic oppression.  Break the hold of slavery, tyranny and disease.  *
Fill us with courage to preach Your word fearlessly, and to intercede for the lost faithfully.  Almighty God, deliver us from evil.

Praying Song of Songs 7:10-13 (New International Version)

Come, my lover, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the night in the villages.

Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom -- there I will give you my love. *
The mandrakes send out their fragrance, and at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you, my lover.

Response to the Scripture

Arise, my dove, my fair one and come away with me.  For the winter is past and the rain is over and gone!

Draw near to God’s throne of grace
with the thanksgivings, prayers, & intercessions that are on your heart

The Spirit and the Bride say *
β€œCome!”

Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly. *
I belong to my beloved, and his desire is for me.

Ending Prayer

I want to unite my life to your life, my thoughts to your thoughts, my affections to your affections, my heart to your heart, my works to your works, my whole self to your self, in order to become through this union more holy and more pleasing in the sight of your Father and in order to make my life more worthy of your grace and of the reward of eternity.  I want to join your intentions to my intentions, the holiness of your actions to mine and the excellence of your lofty virtues to the lowliness of mine.

- Jean-Pierre Me'daille

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
