Opening Prayer

O Light serene of God the Father’s glory,
To you, O Christ, we sing,
And with the evening star, at hour of sunset,
Our worship bring.

To Father, Son and God’s most Holy Spirit,
Eternal praise is due.
O Christ, who gave your life, the world gives glory
And thanks to you.

Praying Luke 10:17-21 (New International Version)

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." *
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure."

Response to the Scripture

I will enter Your gates with thanksgiving in my heart; I will enter Your courts with praise. I will say, "This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice for He has made me glad."

Draw near to God’s throne of grace
with the thanksgivings, prayers, & intercessions that are on your heart

Ending Prayer

Good night, God, *
And thank you for this very lovely day,
And thank you for helping us at work and at play,
Thank you for our families and each and every friend.
Forgive us, please, for anything we've done that might offend.
Keep us safe and faithful, God.
Tell us what to do.

Good night, God, *
And thank you, God,
For letting us love you.
