A Meditation on Hospitality - Well Done, CTR!
Here is a (somewhat obscure) New Testament passage that describes so well how we should (and do) practice hospitality to our guests.
Loved ones, you are acting faithfully in whatever you do for the brethren and especially for strangers. They have testified to your love before Messiah’s community. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. For on behalf of the Name they went out, accepting nothing from the pagans. Therefore we ought to support such people, so we might become co-workers in the truth.
- 3 John 5-8
January Retreat: The 28th, not the 21st!!
January 28th is a remarkable date ... in that, having already marked your calendar for the next CTR retreat on Jan 21st, you now need to "re-mark" your calendar to move the date one week to Jan 28th.
Remarkable!
End-Of-Year Giving
The end of the year approacheth, drawing nigh with a speed that seems dizzying, nay even calamitous!
If in thy preparations thou werest to visit ye olde CTR donations page, though mightest find that the default fund is, for a brief yet joyous time, set to End Of Year Gift ... which is perhaps, for thou, a sign and a harbinger.
Expectest thou also further communications, some by horse-drawn carriage, others perhaps through the very new and strange invention of "email", that strike a similar vein though certainly not such a pompous and overworked tone.
