Whose kickball team do you want to be on?
— Caroline Owens

2021 at Christ the Reconciler began with this question from Caroline Owens, in a powerful prophetic teaching called The Accuser of the Brethren. She was asking us if we wanted to align ourselves with:

  • The accuser, Satan, whose modus operandi is pride, deceit, and division?
    … or with …

  • The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who exemplifies humility, truth, and unity?

This teaching formed the cornerstone for a still-developing series called Foundations of Community, which so far have addressed - confession of sin, repentance, forgiveness, prayer, and reconciliation. In 2022 we will pick up this series with at least three teachings - formation, hospitality, and work.

God pushed us forward in other ways towards a community of those called to live out John 17. We connected with the Alleluia Community, a community of hundreds of Catholics and Protestants who have transformed a blighted neighborhood in Augusta, Georgia.

We have begun meeting with the land development team to gain an accurate cost of building the first set of houses on the land here.

And, perhaps most importantly, John Michael and Diane Wall moved into the ministry center here, going “all in" to live alongside the Cogdells.

We look forward to more of the surprises of the Holy Spirit in 2022. And pray that the Lord would richly bless the end of 2021 and beginning of the New Year for you, your family, your church, and your friends.

Grace to you from Jesus,

Thomas & Amy
