Christ the Reconciler

A Missional Community of Reconciliation

involving Protestants, Catholic, Orthodox, and Messianics Jews

Our Goal

is to live out John 17

Jesus’ only prayer for all His people

The Problem is not Division

The Problem is

Hostility

Hostility between followers of Jesus runs rampant.

We express contempt for one another from the pulpit.
Outbursts of anger explode on social media.
Even acts of physical violence are not unheard of.

The world watches and writes off our witness of Jesus.

Reconciliation

Jesus’ answer to hostility is

Reconciliation is a series of actions that removes hostility in a relationship, repairs the damage it caused, and restores the God-intended unity.

The God-intended unity for His people is for us to enter into the unity of the Trinity!

Jesus made this clear in his one prayer for us, recorded in John 17:

I pray also for whoever will believe in me through their message, so that they all will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.

May they also be one in us so that this world will believe that you sent me into this world.
— Jesus in John 17

At Christ the Reconciler, we are called to live out this prayer. Or more accurately - to strive towards living out this prayer.

We do this through five specific actions which form our way of life:

  1. Prayer

  2. Reconciliation

  3. Formation

  4. Hospitality

  5. Work
